This is a brief note on how Stouffer's Jerky Marinade got started.
After graduation I started working at the South End A&P store cutting meat. I worked part time for about 7 years at the A&P store. We also killed our own meat on the farm.
At the age of 14 I started to go deer hunting with my uncle Charles. Over the years not only did I hunt but started to cut up my own deer meat. My brother Dennis and I started Stouffer's Deer Processing. Having a recipe for Jerky we made deer jerky for our customers.
As time went by we got tired of processing deer. Then I got the bright idea to get my recipe bottled so more hunters could make their own jerky.
It is bottled in Romney, WV by Gourmet Central.
You can make jerky out of about anything deer, elk, moose, turkey, chicken and even goose.
